March 27th, 2008 was the
Waterloo Regional Chess Challenge!
This annual scholastic chess tournament (Grade-by-Grade) was held at Preston H.S. this year.

The Ontario Youth Chess Championships
- the official Youth Championships of the Ontario Chess Association was held
once again in Kitchener at Kitchener City Hall, May 3rd and 4th, 2008.

Last year the Kitchener Chess Festival held the top
tournament in Canada - the Canadian Closed Championship - alongside the top Womens Championship - the Canadian Women's Championship.
The inaugural Canadian Amateur Championships were there too ...
