This year the Ontario Youth Chess Championship will be held in the beautiful Kitchener City Hall in downtown Kitchener Ontario.

Here are some details for the event:

Date Saturday, January 15th and Sunday January 16th
Place Kitchener City Hall, Kitchener, Ontario
(parking available underground - or close-by in municipal lots)
Rounds 5
Type Regular Swiss
Times Saturday 9:00, 1:00, 5:00, Sunday 10:00, 2:00 (Poss. playoffs after rnd. 5)
Time Control 80 min. + 30 sec. w/Digital Clock or 100 min. SD w/analog clock.
Entry Fee $52 in advance, Cheques payable to Patrick McDonald,
$62 – On Site – Cash only
Sections Based on age and gender: U10, U12, U14, U16, U18 - Boys and Girls. More here
Prizes First place in each section has entry fee to the CYCC guaranteed, plus $$BEN OCA is contributing $600 to the prize fund! (we hope to qualify several youth from each section)

Miscellaneous Bring Equipment – a limited quantity of sets and clocks will be available on-site for those that may not have their own.
Accommodations The organizing committee has arranged for a special rate at the Walper Terrace Hotel, and has set aside a limited number of rooms for our youth chess players and their families. Click HERE for more info.
