Many questions are coming in about the
Canadian Youth Chess Championships (CYCC)

The CYCC is Canada's National Youth Chess
Championships divided into age groups just like the OYCC and the
WYCC (World Youth Chess Championships)

The CYCC determines Canada's Youth Champions for their
respective age groups

The CYCC also chooses the National team that goes to the
WYCC (This year in Vietnam)

This year the CYCC will be in Quebec City from July 14th - 17th
Here is the information about this year's event:
2008 Canadian Youth Chess Championships:
- Dates : July 14-17, 2008
- Place : Quebec city
- Tournament site : Hotel Universel, 2300 Chemin Ste-Foy, Québec
(Ste-Foy).
- Registration : $150 ($225 after june 1st).
- Schedule :
- July 14 - Opening ceremony at 9:30 am, 10am and 3pm rounds
1-2;
- July 15 - 10am and 3pm rounds 3-4;
- July 16 - 10am and 3 pm rounds 5-6;
- July 17 round 7 at 10am, Closing ceremony at around 4pm.
- Sections : U18, U16, U14, U12, U10, U8 boys and girls.
- Prizes : Winners of each section win a trip to Vietnam to
participate to the World Youth Chess Championship 2008. The WYCC are
providing free board (meals and lodging) for winners of each
category. Entry fee is provided by the CFC. There are also medals
for the 3 top places. A great experience for any young chess
players.
